Frequently Asked Questions

  • Larger prints are almost always one-of-a-kind. The artwork is the only one to exist except for the one proof we keep for our records. (A proof is the first one the artist makes to be sure it is as perfect as intended, before the larger actual work is printed and offered for sale)

Much older works in the smaller size of 18×24 size may have a three to nine print edition.

  • We use the most secure system known. A document that lists the artwork and its makeup goes to you after hand signed by Lawrence D’Attilio on the verso (backside of the art). Also on the back, we imbed a high-tech numbered hologram that is impossible to remove and can’t be duplicated. A duplicate of the same instrument is also attached to the signed document.

  • If you are buying an artwork, we certainly do, either because you are having us provide the frame, or you just want our assistance.

In any case, our expertise comes from the Ansel Adams training we received in 1968. Fashioning the tried and true techniques that make the best arrangement for lighting. Still used today by the finest museums.

  • Yes, the materials are tested to last 100 to 400 years minimum, when hung or stored as we inform you at the purchase time. However, while tests show that prints on metal and wood can last as much as 100 years, there isn’t a modern proof to authenticate that, so we can’t guarantee art lasting over a long term when produced on those substrates. Further, the so-called acrylic prints have long-term issues due to the plasticizers migrating out of the plastics, leading to brittle prints.

If you prefer to have an artwork you can rely on to last over a century, you are safest to buy printed artworks on paper and canvas. All prints are made using only archival inks. Such inks are made using metals whose colors remain constant over time.

  • Smaller prints and those that are limited editions are most often covered, free of charge. For larger artworks, a fee will be added. We work carefully to get you the best safety in transport, without extravagant means of packaging and shipping, that drives the cost of shipping up unnecessarily.

  • Artworks purchased directly, in person, such as at an art fair, must be paid for immediately using Zelle or other online apps. Cash also can be used. After payment, per your needs, the artwork can be held until you are ready to take it, have it delivered or shipped to you. Limited edition artworks often are available using a payment plan app. Please inquire for more details .

If you order a large 1 of 1 print, through online and not in person, a 50% downpayment is required. The second 50% must be sent using the same payment system, such as Zelle, when the artworks tracking number shows the artwork on its way, and we have emailed that number to you. Expect delivery within 3 weeks, if it is not framed. If it is framed it may take 5 weeks.

Other Useful FAQs

Good fits are when the client has a theme, idea, or favorite something that they can articulate so we can use that to create a unique special artwork for them.  While some commissions have been for mural sized artworks, there are some that are much smaller, that we can also work with.
